Prepare To Win

1 Corinthians 9:24-27

24 Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it.

25 And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown.

26 Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air.

27 But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.

If you are going to run a race to win the gold, then you must prepare yourself.

1.    Invest in a good pair of running shoes.

2.    Eat Right.

3.    Ease yourself into running.

4.    Stick to your training schedule.

5.    Prepare Mentally.

6.    Form a plan before the race.

7.    Keep your eyes on the prize.

In a race you must prepare yourself before running the race if you expect to win.

“I am not afraid of storms. I am learning how to sail my ship.” — Louisa May Alcott   You should not be afraid of Satan, if you have God truly in your heart.

2 Timothy 2: 4-5

4 No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier.

5 And also if anyone competes in athletics, he is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules.

We have rules that are set before us in the word of God.  We need to live by these rules in order to make it to heaven.

1.    Invest in a good pair of running shoes. - Invest in a good Bible.

2.    Eat Right. - Read and understand the word of God.  Do not allow Satan to enter into your life and destroy you.  Do not allow things of this world to slowly pull you away from God.

3.    Ease yourself into running. - Learn not to over read the Bible without understanding what you are reading.

4.    Stick to your training schedule. - Place yourself on a daily schedule of reading.

5.    Prepare Mentally. - You need to prepare for your study by praying before.

6.    Form a plan before the race. - Form your plan to make it to Heaven to see God.

7.    Keep your eyes on the prize. - Keep your eyes on God and not on the world.

We are running the ultimate race that will determine our eternity life.  We can make a choice to live for eternity in Hell or an eternity in Heaven.

What is your choice?
