Fill Me Up

 John 4:9-13

Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, “How is it that You, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?” For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.

10 Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.”

11 The woman said to Him, “Sir, You have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep. Where then do You get that living water?

12 Are You greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well, and drank from it himself, as well as his sons and his livestock?”

13 Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again,

Jesus comes to a city in Samaria called Sychar and while he is sitting at Jacob's well there came a Samaritan women to draw her some water.  So Jesus begins to talk to her by asking her to give him a drink.

The women then says why would you ask me that, we are not even from the people.  Jesus said to her. If you knew God and you knew who I am and asked then I would have given you living water.

What is the living water?  It is the water from heaven that flows from God and will fill your life so full that there is no more room for sin.

When you seek God and the Holy Spirit with everything you have then you will find and be filled up with everything He has.

It is time for you to release the sin in your life and allow the Holy Spirit to take hold of your life and turn it upside down.

The Bible mentions being full, fill up, and filling up many times throughout both of the testaments.   When "filling" is mentioned in the bible it can mean all sorts of great things.

Ø  To be made full

Ø  Or, to occupy to full capacity

Ø  To have plenty

Ø  Meet the needs

Ø  Or, to satisfy

God is a God who fills, satisfies, meets needs, and gives us plenty.

Exodus 34:6 (NLT)

The Lord passed in front of Moses, calling out, “Yahweh![a] The Lord!  The God of compassion and mercy! I am slow to anger and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness.

Just like God encouraged Moses, He also wants to encourage you.  He loves you and has compassion and mercy on you.

Psalm 81:10

The Lord passed in front of Moses, calling out, “Yahweh![a] The Lord!  The God of compassion and mercy! I am slow to anger and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness.

Psalm 107:9

For He satisfies the longing soul, And fills the hungry soul with goodness.

Luke 1:41

41 And it happened, when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, that the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.

All of these scriptures talks about being filled up with God.  If we will empty all of the hurt, discouragement, disappointment, bitterness, and jealousy then there will be room for God.

Fill Me Up!

If we will empty out all of the drugs, alcohol, cursing, and all the other sins then we have more room for God.

Fill Me Up!

When I was young most everything was about being a servant.  Meaning when I pulled into a gas station they had attendants that served me and my car.  They would walk up beside the car and ask "Fill It Up, Sir or Ma'am?"               When I pull through a drive through someone serves me the food I ordered.

God says in His word that if we empty all the junk out and serve Him then He will serve us.  We just ask Him to Fill Me Up and He will do just that.
