Jeremiah 29:11
Leaving Your Problems Behind

In Exodus 14 we learn that the Israelites encounter the Red Sea in front of them and the Egyptian army behind them.  If we think clearly then we realize that the scripture does not say that they turned and started toward any other direction.  They were looking forward at the obstacle ahead of them and thinking what were they going to do.

When we look at our situation or we looking behind us or in our past or are we look ahead and devising a plan of how to escape?  We must learn to stay focused on what is ahead.

When we get caught up in our situation of whatever that may be then we have a tendency to not look to God for the help or answer.  If you are someone that is in a prescription drug abuse problem, depression, anxiety, or any other addiction then you are probably so wrapped up in that, that you can't see a way out.

     God is your way out!

You then say I pray but God does not change me.  God is waiting on you to make a move and work on getting rid of the problem.  I feel that sometimes God wants to know if we are serious.  If you will work on getting rid of the problem at hand yourself and then call out to God and allow Him to get you through it.

The old saying goes unless you admit you have a problem then you can't change that problem.  You have to know it is a problem before you can change it.

In Exodus 14 the Israelites bring the problem to their Sheppard (Moses) and Moses took it to God.  Moses cries out to the Lord and He says in verse 15 and God says "why do you cry to Me?"  Then the Lord says go forward.               God says lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it.

When are you going to lift up your hands and give it to God?

Notice that God also says in Exodus 14:17 that he will harden the hearts of the Egyptians so they will follow them.  You see God had a plan.

Exodus 14:19

19 And the Angel of God, who went before the camp of Israel, moved and went behind them; and the pillar of cloud went from before them and stood behind them.

God was not only preparing the way, but He was also protecting them.

When we are going through problems in life and things don't seem to be working out then we need to know that God has a plan and He is working when we don't see Him working.

When you are having the problem with drugs, depression, jobs, finances, anxiety or whatever the problem is, know that God is in control.  He is already working.

Exodus 14:24-25

24 Now it came to pass, in the morning watch, that the Lord looked down upon the army of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and cloud, and He troubled the army of the Egyptians.

25 And He took off their chariot wheels, so that they drove them with difficulty; and the Egyptians said, “Let us flee from the face of Israel, for the Lord fights for them against the Egyptians.”

The problem that they did not see is that when they turned around that they could not run from God, especially when He has a plan.
