1 Kings 18:32-35
Are You Fireproof or Combustible?

 1 Kings 18:32-35

32 Then with the stones he built an altar in the name of the Lord; and he made a trench around the altar large enough to hold two seahs of seed.

33 And he put the wood in order, cut the bull in pieces, and laid it on the wood, and said, “Fill four water-pots with water, and pour it on the burnt sacrifice and on the wood.”

34 Then he said, “Do it a second time,” and they did it a second time; and he said, “Do it a third time,” and they did it a third time.

35 So the water ran all around the altar; and he also filled the trench with water.   Seahs - 144 medium-sized eggs, or 9 US quarts.   Fireproof Proof against or resistant to fire.

Most of us have phones that are water resistant or they are water proof down to a certain depth or a certain length of time.  However, when something is Fireproof that means it cannot catch on fire.

We find Elijah was making sure that his sacrifice was Fireproof.  This was not to prove who he was, but to prove who God is.

Today there is too many people that wants to show themselves instead of God.  Some get up and teach or preach or even pastor to show that they are the latest and greatest preacher or pastor.  We need to be show God's love and His passion for people.   1 John 4:8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

If we are not careful we make our selves Fireproof.  We must love to know God so, if we do not love everyone then according to scripture we must do not know God.  Some people come into a church house and make themselves Fireproof again God working on them.

They sit on the pew Sunday after Sunday and they know a lot of Bible verses and raise their hands occasionally and Praise God but, they do not know Him or love Him they just show the emotions.

Combustible

Highly Flammable

Let's talk about how that Elijah did all he could to make his sacrifice Fireproof.  And yet with all of the effort his sacrifice burst into flames.  Not only did it burst into flames, but it even dried up all of the water that was poured into the trench around it.

Why?  Because, he loved God and therefore knew God.  And because of his love for God, God took the sacrifice and all of the water and proved he knew the real God.  The one and only.

We wonder why we don't see the things of our past such as the praying and seeking God.  The healings and miracles.  I believe if we examine our lives compared to 30, 40, or 50 years ago that we will find we are not on our knees as much or praying as much.

The scripture says that the healing is ours if we believe and ask of God.

We must find that point where we become Combustible or Highly Flammable.  When we come into His presence we need to be ready to explode with the shout and praise of His Glory.

In Exodus chapter 3 Moses was tending to his flock when something incrediable happened.

Exodus 3:2

And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush. So he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, but the bush was not consumed.

Exodus 3:5

Then He said, “Do not draw near this place. Take your sandals off your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground.”

We need to get there.  We need to be so Highly Flammable that we are Combustible.  We can explode into a God moment of Praise & Worship, and Prayer.
