1 Corinthians 15:57
Victory In Jesus

 1 Corinthians 15:57

     For all of history men and woman have feared death, hell, and the grave.  They have feared sickness and spirits and every kind of fear that lurks in the dark place.

     When I was young we used to be afraid of ghost at my Grandpa and Grandma's house.

     It is time for us to shake those shackles off and claim our victory in our Lord and Savior.  There are thing that come along in our life that lay claim on us if we allow it too.  We cannot allow the enemy to take over our mind, heart, or life.

     Over 18 years ago I had a lot of shackles, or chains that held me down.  Drinking was one of them.  We claim that it does not however, it was destroying my life and my body.

     I smoked for more than 15 years altogether.  The chains of smoking kept me from socializing with friends.  It also kept me wasting my money on something that was not helping me or my family.

     I used to have a spirit of road rage.  The bonds that held me and could have gotten me killed.

Deuteronomy 20:1

When you go into battle you must know who your enemy is and who our Savior is.

     I have seen people over the years battle the devil over many things other than what I have mentioned.  I have seen them battle drugs, depression, anxiety, lust, anger and many other things that the devil has tried to get them with.

     We must realize that our battle is with Satan and not God.  God is our answer to every problem that comes our way.   We have Victory in Jesus.

Victory In Jesus

I heard an old, old story how a Savior came from glory,

How He gave His life on Calvary to save a wretch like me;

I heard about His groaning, of His precious blood's atoning,

Then I repented of my sins and won the victory.

O victory in Jesus, my Savior, forever.

He sought me and bought me with His redeeming blood;

He loved me ere I knew Him, and all my love is due Him,

He plunged me to victory beneath the cleansing flood.

I heard about His healing, of His cleansing power revealing.

How He made the lame to walk again and caused the blind to see;

And then I cried, "Dear Jesus, come and heal my broken spirit,"

And somehow Jesus came and brought to me the victory.

O victory in Jesus, my Savior, forever.

He sought me and bought me with His redeeming blood;

He loved me ere I knew Him, and all my love is due Him,

He plunged me to victory beneath the cleansing flood.

I heard about a mansion He has built for me in glory.

And I heard about the streets of gold beyond the crystal sea;

About the angels singing and the old redemption story,

And some sweet day I'll sing up there the song of victory.

O victory in Jesus, my Savior, forever.

He sought me and bought me with His redeeming blood;

He loved me ere I knew Him, and all my love is due Him,

He plunged me to victory beneath the cleansing flood.

Psalm 18:2

If I can put my full trust in the Lord, then I will have no need to fear my enemy.

Psalms 23

23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.

3 He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over.

6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.
