Ephesians 6:12
12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
Today we have a hard time seeing who Satan is until he has already destroyed us. We do not see what is happening in us or next to us. Satan is working overtime to make sure that he stills your peace, joy, and happiness.
He wants to destroy you, your family, your friends, and even your church. He is looking for a way in to do his work.
John 10:10
10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
I have always been a fan of SyFy movies. You know those corny ones where the gator grew bigger than the rest of them and he is eating everyone. Or the movies where the Alien enter's a ship from earth and begins to kill everyone on the ship.
In every one of those kind of movies the alien or oversized gator never comes to the door and says I am here to eat all of you nor does he send out an email to let you know he is coming.
Satan loves to sneak in and destroy you. He wants to find a way into you and your family's life to get you when you are not looking.
Satan will send someone to say something that he is using to make you mad. And that can even be a friend from the church. Satan is always on the lookout for someone to use and sometimes that is a Christian friend. The real question is will you allow the devil to use you or if you are on the other end will you allow the devil to get to you for the response?
Luke 22:31
31 And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat.
Satan is looking for somone to turn away from God so that he can destroy not only your life, but others around you.
My wife and I have done many things for people over the years including going to take them food, medicine, prayer, and even money over the years. However, when Satan starts whispering in their ears they will immediately come against us and do what Satan has convinced them to do to destroy us or this church.
1 Peter 5:8
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
We sat around a table and ate when Dad was the Pastor at a restaurant and he ordered a Country Fried Steak. When it arrived that thing was massive and did not even fit on the plate. He did not know what he had coming until it was already there. When we all finished eating and I looked at his plate there was still about half of the steak left. He was defeated and sent what was left of the Country Fried Steak back.
This is the same way that Satan gets us. We don't see it coming. On the menu everything looks so good until it arrives. Satan is looking for that place where he can enter into your life when you don't see him and then he attacks you.
2 Corinthians 2:11
11 lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.
This means that Satan has many ways to enter into our lives or our minds. Devices or Tools Phones TV Friends Work Visuals Church Family
However we have a way to defeat Satan.
1 John 4:4
4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
James 4:7
7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
We have not because we have lost our communication with God.
