Exodus 13:21-22
21 And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so as to go by day and night.
22 He did not take away the pillar of cloud by day or the pillar of fire by night from before the people.
God is a guard to us in the midst of Satan coming at us. When we fill the heat of Satan coming to destroy us God is there. When Satan is trying to find a way into binding our soul & heart for him God is there.
If we serve God then God is always there to cover us and keep us from getting beat down by Satan.
When Moses and the Israelites were in the middle of the wilderness they did not have to feel the wrath of the sun because God sent a cloud (not only for them to follow) but, for them to have a covering to keep them from getting to hot in the daytime.
Revelation 1:7
Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.
Notice that this is written at the beginning of the Bible where God is leading by a pillar of cloud and then in Revelation's it says He is coming back with the clouds.
It is that covering that God gives us when we serve Him. I am not saying that means anything, however it does talk about them at the beginning and the end of the Bible.
Then we see that God also send a pillar of fire for them to have light at night. The fire is one of the most talked elements of the old and new testament.
Exodus 3:2
And the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush. He looked, and behold, the bush was burning, yet it was not consumed.
We need that fire from heaven to consume our life.
In Acts chapter 2 we see the power of the Holy Spirit that came down in a upper room and it filled that room and the people. It says in Acts 2:3 "Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit.
When you are saved you are saved under John 3:16.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
It also says that if you follow Him will be have the light of life.
John 8:12
Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”
If you are walking around feeling gloomy and constantly full of the darkness of this world then you are not walking in the light of the world.
We must be careful to not get caught up in the bad in this world all the time, because if we do then we are not showing the light.
Another way to put this is that if you are the care taker of a lighthouse and you let all of the windows get dirty and completely filled in dirt and filth then no one will be able to see the light from your lighthouse. However, if you keep those windows clean then they will be able to see your light from a long distance away.
We do not have to go around and tell everyone that we are a Christian, we can just show them with the light that we bear. With the happiness, joy, and excitement in us.
Many years ago I was talking to someone about being a Christian and then getting filled with the Holy Spirit. I got so excited about talking about that, I could fill the excitement and my face lighting up as I talked about it. You should be happy and excited about Christ.
John 9:5
As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”
It's about time that you build up a fire down deep inside your soul and get excited about God. Let's get some of that Holy Ghost excitement going and let people know that we are excited about God and Him saving our soul and filling us up with the fire of the Holy Spirit.
