Matthew 7:13-14
Stand On The Word Of God

Matthew 7:13-14

13 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.

14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.

There are so many people today that is following after the wide gate.  When you look around at the people that are around you each and every day there is not many at all of those that will ever see heaven.  That is sad when you think about the fact that God created each one of them in His own image.

Jesus Did not speak of the gate as our destiny, rather as  the entrance to the path we must choose to take.  There will be many people that will choose the wide gate that will lead them down a path of destruction.

And then Jesus goes on to say in verse 14 the if we choose the narrow gate it will lead us to our everlasting life.  That will lead us to have, but He also says that it will be difficult.

I had a dream the a few nights ago about this very thing.

It start will me starting to walk up this very wide staircase.  It was very beautiful and appeared to be hand carved.  It was an easy staircase to walk up.  However as I got further up the staircase the steps became more narrow.  They started going from something like 10' Wide to 6', 5', 4', 3', 2', and 1' Wide.  And then I found myself stand on a book and when I looked up I was only 3 to 4 steps from the top.  Someone had the arm stretched out trying to grab a hold of me to help.  However the book that I was on started to bend and I started to lose my balance.  I then managed to grab a step a little further up and get my foot off of the book and took a step and then the hand was able to grab me from above.  Then I was able to get to the top.

You see God told me that the wide step are easy however they do not last forever and do not lead me to where I want to go and that is Heaven.

When I get to the narrow steps they are a whole lot harder to climb and definitely more scary.  And then when I stepped on top of the book He said that is the word of God and it is not easy to follow, however if we will continue to press on I am will be there to help.

Jesus is coming back one day and we need to know that we are ready.  There is no second guess or that extra opportunity to call out for forgiveness.  When He shows up that's it.

John 14:3

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.

God has laid it on my heart a lot lately that we need to be prepared.  There are many scriptures in His word that point to the return of Jesus Christ.

2 Timothy 4:2-5

Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers;

and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.  But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

According to the Word Of God you must live according to the word.  One of many problems that we have in today's world is that so many people want to re-arrange the scripture to read the way they want it to sound.  Instead of doing what God wants us to do or not do.

Let's take a look at something in Isaiah that might help us shows us something that is happening.

Isaiah 2:20-22

19 They shall go into the holes of the rocks, And into the caves of the [a]earth, From the terror of the Lord And the glory of His majesty, When He arises to shake the earth mightily.

20 In that day a man will cast away his idols of silver And his idols of gold, Which they made, each for himself to worship, To the moles and bats,

21 To go into the clefts of the rocks, And into the crags of the rugged rocks, From the terror of the Lord And the glory of His majesty, When He arises to shake the earth mightily.

22 Sever yourselves from such a man, Whose breath is in his nostrils; For of what account is he?

There will be people all over this world that will be trying to hide when Jesus comes back and yet there will be no hiding spot.  I think about this in today's time with all of the new technology of Inferred, GPS trackers, camera's, drones and other ways of finding you.

The Scripture says that everyone will account for whether they have served God or not.

Matthew 24:36

“But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.

17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.

I don't know about you, but I want to be ready to go.  I want to know that when Jesus shows up that I am ready to go to Heaven and enjoy the presence of the Lord.

It even says in Revelation 1:7 that "every eye shall see him".

That means that it will not be a world of not know what happened.  Everyone will know.

Revelation 1:8

“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”

God is everything!
