Psalm 27
God Is With Me

Psalm 27:13-14

13 I would have lost heart, unless I had believed That I would see the goodness of the Lord In the land of the living.

14 Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!   We Need Patience.

Patience - The capacity to accept or tolerate delay, trouble, or suffering without getting angry or upset.

I don't know about you, however I cannot say that I am a very patient person.  I have patience for some things, however when it comes to getting something that I want, I do not have a lot of patience.

When we look at Psalm 27 we have a chapter that deals with patience, encouragement, confidence, and joy.

The more that I work on waiting the more patient that I become for the next time.

God Is Strength

Don't Lose Hope

We must be careful not to get ahead of God.  God has a plan for us and He know when we need something and when we should get it.  Quit trying to outdo God, Quit trying to get ahead of God and let Him do His thing.

If you read over in Genesis chapter 30 you will see where Rachel got ahead of God and had her husband sleep with the maidservant because she could not bear children.  Jacob had several child before his wife figured out that she was running ahead of God to get what she wanted.

When you are going to buy a house, get on your knees for every house that you look at and ask God if that is the house for you to buy.  Be patient and don't be in a hurry to take something because you want it that bad.

If you are someone seeking a boyfriend, a husband, or a wife I would encourage you to pray and be patient and wait upon God.  When God is ready, you will know who that is and then you will get everything that God will bless you with.

Psalm 27:1-3 27

The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?

When the wicked came against me To eat up my flesh, My enemies and foes, They stumbled and fell.

Though an army may encamp against me, My heart shall not fear; Though war may rise against me, In this I will be confident.

Do Not Be Afraid

When people come again me.  Whom shall I fear!   It does not matter who is giving me trouble, God is with me. It does not matter what happens around me, God is with me. It does not matter when Satan comes against me, God is with me.

You have no one to fear.  God is with you then who can be against you.

2 Timothy 1:7

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

God has not given that fear so stop living with fear and start living with God in your life.

Psalm 27:4-5

One thing I have desired of the Lord, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the Lord, And to inquire in His temple.

For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; In the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock.

I love the first part of this scripture.  When reading this scripture in verse 4 I think David is thinking about how wonderful it is to seek God and to experience His presence.

Have you ever been away from the presence of God when maybe you were in a dark time of your life and you began to think of what it was like when you were close to God and the peace that you had.

Romans 5:1

Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

We should have that desire to be in church.  When my wife and myself go to Branson and we do not get to be in church on Sunday Morning then we spend the next week desiring to be at our church.  We can't wait until Sunday.

We have to have strength to be able to defeat Satan and we cannot do that without God.

Why is it that we don't feel so much joy in seeking the face of God?  The joy of His presence?
