Jeremiah 23:29
It is Time For The Wind Of Change

Jeremiah 23:29

Is not My word like a fire?” says the Lord,
“And like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?

Have you ever been to the point you were ready to give up?

Things are not going your way and they have gotten you to the point you want to give up.

1 Kings 19:1-4

And Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, also how he had executed all the prophets with the sword.

Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, “So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I do not make your life as the life of one of them by tomorrow about this time.”

And when he saw that, he arose and ran for his life, and went to Beersheba, which belongs to Judah, and left his servant there.

But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a broom tree. And he prayed that he might die, and said, “It is enough! Now, Lord, take my life, for I am no better than my father's!”

This is the point that Elijah was at.  It was now sitting under a broom tree and saying to the Lord, "Now, Lord, take my life, for I am no better than my father's!"

There is people in this world that want to take their life because they don't know what to do.  Some have taken their life because they did not know where to turn.

Elijah was there and ready to die when an angel appeared and gave him a cake baked on coals, and a jar of water.  And then the angel of the Lord comes back a second time.

God took care of Elijah even in his time of depression.  When he realized he might die at the hands of Jezebel he was scared for his life.

This is after God just showed up and showed out in a FIRE SHOWDOWN!

1 Kings 18

Elijah and Ahab starting beginning to exchange words.

1 Kings 18:17-19

17 Then it happened, when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said to him, “Is that you, O troublers of Israel?”

18 And he answered, “I have not troubled Israel, but you and your father’s house have, in that you have forsaken the commandments of the Lord and have followed the Baals.

19 Now therefore, send and gather all Israel to me on Mount Carmel, the four hundred and fifty prophets of Baal, and the four hundred prophets of [a]Asherah, who [b]eat at Jezebel’s table.”

Elijah after calling all the people has them bring 2 bulls and cuts them up and places them on the work and does not put any fire under them and then he said ok Ahab go ahead and pray to your God Baal and have him consume your sacrifice by fire.

1 Kings 18:26

26 So they took the bull which was given them, and they prepared it, and called on the name of Baal from morning even till noon, saying, “O Baal, hear us!” But there was no voice; no one answered. Then they leaped about the altar which they had made.

Then they began to cut themselves and yet still no answer.

Then Elijah got his sacrifice ready and  said "Fill four water pots with water, and pour it on the burnt sacrifice and on the word.  Then Elijah had them do is a second and third time and to fill the trench with water.

Then in verse 36 he prayed and God sent fire from heaven and it consumed the sacrifice covered in water and the fire even lick up the water out of the trench.

            God is a powerful God

Then when Jezebel threatened Elijah he ran away in fear.

After Elijah had ran and hid he was taken care of  and then sent to a cave

1 Kings 19: 11-13

11 Then He said, “Go out, and stand on the mountain before the Lord.” And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lordbut the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake;

12 and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice.

13 So it was, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood in the entrance of the cave. Suddenly a voice came to him, and said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”

God is not always in that huge miracle you expect.  He is sometimes in that still small voice that says I have you my child.

Today it is time for a wind of change.  It is time for you to go stand on the mountain before the Lord and listen.

We spent more than a couple of years locked up in solitary confinement because of a virus and some of your have lost your touch with God.  You have lost that closeness with the one who created you and has brought you out of sin.

We have got to stop being under the chains of Satan and stand on that mountain with God.

God is not in the Wind

God is not in the earthquake

God is not in the Fire

But, God is in that still small voice that keeps saying come unto me and I will give you rest.

God says that He will be there for you and with you and He will.

John 14:16

16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever

Act 2:1-4

When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all [a]with one accord in one place.

And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.

Then there appeared to them [b]divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them.

And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Jeremiah 23:29

Is not My word like a fire?” says the Lord,
“And like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?

We need the winds of change.

We need the fire of God to change our lives.

How many time is God going to show up  and help you out before you realize that He is with you and there for you?
