Matthew 9:37-38
Working For The Kingdom Of God

Matthew 20:20-22

20 Then the mother of Zebedee’s sons came to Him with her sons, kneeling down and asking something from Him.

21 And He said to her, “What do you wish?”

She said to Him, “Grant that these two sons of mine may sit, one on Your right hand and the other on the left, in Your kingdom.”

22 But Jesus answered and said, “You do not know what you ask. Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?”

They said to Him, “We are able.”

This morning I want to talk to you about being a servant of Jesus Christ.

It is important that we learn how to be a servant of Jesus Christ.  One of the first things that we must do is to know Jesus as our personal Savior.  You see the sons of Zebedee wanted to be important and sit beside Jesus however, you can't always start on the top.

The first thing that we must know is that Jesus died for you and I and believe in him that He did just that.

John 3:16

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

John 3:17

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

If we know that Jesus died for us and that He is the savior then we must ask Him into our heart to cleanse our soul.

Once we are saved then we must live our life before Him and live a clean life.

If you don't know already people are watch your every move.  They are waiting to see how you respond to the bad things that Satan brings your way.

Do you curse?

Do you get angry?

Do you throw things?

These are just some of the main things that we will show right away.  The other things are.

Do we show compassion?

Do we forgive others when they have done us wrong?

Do we talk down to people?

Are we jealous of others?

Matthew 7:20

Therefore by their fruits you will know them.

So, be careful in your everyday life.  When you go to the store be careful about the way your respond to something going wrong.  Someone may be stand at the cash register and had be thinking about going to church and getting to know God.

If they see you angry they may change the mind.  They might have even thought about going to your church until you acted that way.

Matthew 9:37-38

37 Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few.

38 Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”

In our daily lives we often past people or talk to people who need and some want to know Jesus.  We must learn to talk to them.

Many time you have the opportunity to tell someone about Jesus.  Maybe you meet someone who does not have the money to have a car or live on their own.  That may be a great opportunity to mention that you use to have that problem until you got saved or started paying your tithes.

Learn are write down some scripture.  It is often times important to know a little scripture to help you out.  Write it down on your phone so that you will have it when needed.

Watch for your opportunity to talk to someone about Jesus.

As we just heard recently about Sis. Salceda's experiences in the hospital.  She had several opportunities to talk to someone about Jesus or pray with them.  It was not always because it presented its self but, often times because she ask to pray with them.

As you know several of us go out on Sunday night after church to fellowship.  We have had many times that we have talked to our waiters or waitresses about Christ and going to church.

I was not born a Pastor or received that at 10 years old.  I started out help Dad and Mom clean the church.  Later I spent a lot of time in the attic of the Lighthouse running wires so that we could move the sound to the back of the church and nearly lost my life doing so.

I have cleaned toilets, installed lights, ceiling fans, painted, mowing, and many other things at that church and other church's.  I have witnessed many times over the years to people that needed to know Christ.

We must learn to be a servant of Jesus.

There are Billions of people on this earth and there are 331 million people living in the United States.

There are 29.53 million people living in Texas.

There are 133, 251 people living in Carrollton

There are 112, 944 people living in Lewisville

There are 1.288 million people living in Dallas

We need people that are going to stand up for God.  That are going to serve as cleaning, teachers, leaders, preachers, pastors, and harvest gathers.
