1 Corinthians 6:9-10
9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites,
10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.
Sin began with the most beautiful and powerful of angels and his name was Lucifer. Lucifer want to be bigger than God and it cost him a trip out of Heaven into Hell.
He was renamed Satan and began the very first sin on earth through Adam and Eve. Who was enticed to sin by Satan.
At my house as most of you know I have a 90 gallon fish tank in my office. I have to clean it out about every 2 to 3 weeks if I don't then it starts to grow allege on the side of the tank and on the plants. Now if you take a look at my fish tank you will see some green allege growing on the sides of the tank. If I do not clean it out often enough it becomes thicker and grows out across the tank more.
Some people have things hiding in their heart that are bigger that what we see on the surface. You see when I feed my fish you will start to see bigger fish that are hiding in the dark places. These are 2 red tipped sharks that are hiding and won't come out until they are enticed. The same way that Adam and Eve where entice.
When we have a sin in our life it usually becomes infected and will start to grow into the next sin that we do. Eventually it will take over our lives and we will become clouded in our walk with Christ.
Another way of saying it is sin, becomes sin, becomes sin. We must spend some time cleaning it out by going to our Heavenly Father and asking Him to forgive us of our sins.
Do you remember when you told a small white lie that only became bigger and bigger?
1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
I Thank God that is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins. Now we can choose whether or not to commit personal sins because we have the power of the Holy Spirit who dwells within us. When we do sin, the Spirit convicts us in Romans 8:9-11.
In the first video of my fish you will notice in the upper right hand corner 2 green plants floating upside down on top of the tank. You can see them, however there are 3 to 4 very small fry (or fish babies) as you would know them. That plants shields them from the other big fish trying to eat them.
The Holy Spirit helps to shield us from people and other things that Satan throws our was from trying to harm us. But, here's the thing we must stay under that covering which means we must be on our knees daily to keep that protection and keep the sin away. You see if those baby fish get out away from those top plant that could get eaten very quick.
God know who we are and what is coming out way. The Holy Spirit helps protect us by not only shielding us, but even pointing out some of the dangers that we could get ourselves into. If we do things on our own without God we can get ourselves into trouble.
In the move finding Nemo He finds himself in a tank located at a dentist office. And one of the things that they are trying to do to escape is make the water dirty so that the dentist will have to remove them from the tank while he cleans it. In the process of trying to get the tank dirty he has to go up a pipe into the filter and drop a pebble in the filter blade to stop if from running and cleaning the water. But in the process he almost loses his life.
You can lose your Jesus and your life if you get away from that covering too far. The further you go the more likely it could happen.
Now days sin is around every corner.
You cannot watch TV with seeing homosexuality, nudity, lying, stealing, adultery, idolatry, and many other sins.
You cannot have a tik tok account, Facebook, or instagram without young ladies trying to show as much of their bodies and or all of their bodies.
You cannot walk into a store without see something you shouldn't or wished you hadn't seen.
The Holy Spirit is our shield and guardian. He will be there to help protect you and keep you from making some pretty bad mistakes.
John 10:27-28
27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. 28 And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.
If you belong to God then He know you by name. He know the number of hairs on your head. He knows what you did last night or what you did on Friday. Call out to Him and He will set you free of all the bonds that hold you down.
God should be your everything, needs to be your everything and only then everything will be ok.
A sin is a sin and it doesn't matter if it is a little white lie or a big brawny lie, it is a sin. God said sin will not enter into Heaven and he never specified big or little.
