Daniel 6:1-9
Watch Out For Satan Will Devour

Daniel 6:1-9

It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom one hundred and twenty satraps, to be over the whole kingdom;

and over these, three governors, of whom Daniel was one, that the satraps might give account to them, so that the king would suffer no loss.

Then this Daniel distinguished himself above the governors and satraps, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king gave thought to setting him over the whole realm.

So the governors and satraps sought to find some charge against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find no charge or fault, because he was faithful; nor was there any error or fault found in him.

Then these men said, “We shall not find any charge against this Daniel unless we find it against him concerning the law of his God.”

So these governors and satraps thronged before the king, and said thus to him: “King Darius, live forever!

All the governors of the kingdom, the administrators and satraps, the counselors and advisors, have consulted together to establish a royal statute and to make a firm decree, that whoever petitions any god or man for thirty days, except you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions.

Now, O king, establish the decree and sign the writing, so that it cannot be changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which [a]does not alter.”

Therefore King Darius signed the written decree.

Darius liked Daniel because of his spirit and Darius placed him above the other governors.  This was because of God upon his life.

The other governors got together and began to plot against Daniel.  They decided to get Darius to sign a decree that anyone who prays to their God for 30 days would be thrown into the lion's den.

When we are in the enemies territory we need to know that we have God on our side.  Calling him all the time.

God is your protector!  He will help you when you do not even know that He is there with you.

Daniel 6:10

In this scripture he was praying again to God and not giving any thought to the enemy was plotting against him.

Then these governors get to snooping around and catch Daniel praying to God.  They ran back to the king and said "Did you not sign a decree declaring no one to be praying to their God for 30 days?".  Then Darius answers and says "yes".  Then they tell Darius of Daniel praying 3 times a day to his God.

Jealousy is a massive spirit that will tear you apart along with your family and children.  Jealousy is not a quality that people are attracted too.  Jealousy will eat at you until it destroys you in every way.

Satan is out to destroy your life any way that he can.  However we have a heavenly father that will keep an eye out for us.

There has been many things from my past that Satan has tried to bring back to me so that he can have me in hell with him.

Satan is a deceiver.  He will make you think that the thing from your past will make you remember old times of false joy and get you started back.

Satan will convince you to pick back up that habit of smoking or drinking and it will bring you pleasure.  He will put you in a place where you are near that person or place that will bring back those old memories and get you away from God.

  1. Have Faith In God

Then the king tells them to get Daniel and throw him into the lion's den.

When you find yourself in the lion's den then it is time to grab on to God and allow God to take hold of the situation.  Don't allow the enemy to attack you and chew you up.

When the king went home that night he could not even listen to music and when he went to bed he could not even sleep.

I am a very big believer that you do not put yourself into places or situations that will put you back into what you left behind.

  1. Believe In God's Power That Delivered Him

Then the next morning the kings went to go and check on Daniel and cried out Daniel's name mournfully.  The king spoke saying "Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to deliver you from the lions?".

Then Daniel said to the king, "O king, live forever!  My God sent His angel and shut the lions' mouths, so that they have not hurt me, because I was found innocent before Him, and also, O king, I have done no wrong before you."

Then the king gave the command and they brought those men who had accused Daniel, and they cast them into the den of lions - them, their children, and their wives; and the lions overpowered them, and broke all their bones in pieces before they ever came to the bottom of the den.

  1. The Testimony

At this point Daniel had went through what the Devil was trying to do to him.

My wife and I talked to a man the other day that we hope to have come tell his testimony in the next few weeks.  You see God has pulled him through what the Devil has continued to try to do to him.  However, through it all God has helped him and given him strength to go through it all and still have a testimony.

Daniel 6:26-28

For He is the living God,
And steadfast forever;
His kingdom is the one which shall not be destroyed,
And His dominion shall endure to the end.
27 He delivers and rescues,
And He works signs and wonders
In heaven and on earth,
Who has delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.
