Exodus 14:13-14
There Is No God Like My God

Exodus 14:13-14

13 And Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever.

14 The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.”

I have said this before that God is your protector.

I heard about a man named David Livingston who was a missionary from Scotland sent to Africa.  He wanted to be a missionary from a very young age ( I believe it was about 8 years old).  He was sitting in a service were a missionary came to share stories of what was goning on in the mission field at a church.  When he reached the church he realized that most all of the audience was older people that would probably never serve in the mission field due to their age.

After he had told the stories he said is there any of you that would like to be a missionary.  As the silence field the building almost as if there were more crickets than people that little boy yelled from the balcony I want to be a missionary.  So he said I will meet with you after the service.

That little boy was David Livingston and the missionary told him that he needed to go to school when he got older to be a medical missionary in Africa.  So when David grew up he did just that and had went to school to get his degree and became a medical missionary.

When he was much older he had been in Africa for a while going around to different villages being a medical missionary and teaching people about who God is. He went to see a village that had never been talked to before.  When he got there and had tried to teach them that he said the chief of the village came to him and told him that tonight we are coming to where you are living at and we are going to kill you and your family and all that is there with you.  However, that night they never showed up.

Several months later he said that the chief that had threatened him gave his heart to God and so did several in his village.  While he was there he asked the chief why he never showed up the night he said he would.  The chief told him that they did, however when they showed up that there were 39 very large soldier surrounding the camp.

Now David always kept a diary and he wrote down all of the things that happened each day and in each village.  He had came back to Scotland to speak at his home church and tell them what had been happening on the mission field.  He also told them the story of the chief that had never showed up to kill them.

After service that night the church secretary asked David Livingston if she could meet with him in her office.  When he walked in she pulled out a book where the church kept a diary of different things that happened.  She asked him do you know what the date was that the chief had threatened to kill them and he said of course and he gave her the date.  When she looked it up she said on that date we had a prayer meeting dedicated to you and your mission and on that night we had 39 people here that prayed for y'all.

There is no God like my God!  God will be there for you and take care of you if you will give everything to him.

In Exodus all of the Israelites were cornered and backed up to the sea with nowhere to go.  But, God worked a miracle and kept the Israelites safe.

Exodus 14:16

16 But lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it. And the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.

This is how God works.  With a cloud that covered Pharaoh from being able to see them and yet gave them light they crossed the sea.  Not only did God split the Red Sea, but He also gave them dry ground to walk on.

Isaiah 41:10

10 Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

God is with you and He will strengthen you, and help you.

Then when  we look further in these scriptures we see that God is not only there with us, and helps us, but He also finishes the job.

Exodus 14:21-23

21 Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea into dry land, and the waters were divided.

22 So the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea on the dry ground, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.

23 And the Egyptians pursued and went after them into the midst of the sea, all Pharaoh’s horses, his chariots, and his horsemen.

I want to encourage you today that God will bless you if you uphold his commands and live according to the word of God.

To continue to encourage you I want to tell you one more story.

There was a preacher that said that he had ask his grandmother "What is the best thing God has ever done for you?"  The grandmother said this:

When they where first married and still going to college that they had no money.  They spent all of their extra time preaching on the street around the college.  They were at home one morning and there was no food for them to eat.  So, she went into her room and started to cry out to God when before she could close her eyes she saw a line of chickens coming down the hill.  She said they were almost in a perfectly straight line.  When that got to the house she watched them march into the yard and into a shed on the side of the house.

She ran out of the house and to the shed to see what was going on and she found 21 chickens and every chicken had laid an egg.  She grabbed a basket and started gathering the eggs and then she followed the chickens back up the hill about a quarter of a mile and they went back into the pin they came from.  So she went to the house of the owner and knocked on the door.  When the lady answered the door she told that lady about the chickens and what had happened.  Then she proceeded to tell the lady that she wanted to give her back her eggs.

The lady then said my husband hates those chicken, because they have not laid any eggs since he has had them.  Then she said you can take those eggs back home.  She went back home and enjoyed the eggs.  Then every time they were running out of egg down the hill would march those same 21 chicken and head for her shed.

This is the kind of God we serve.  They only one that can supply all your needs including the eggs for which you have no chickens.

When Moses stretched out his hand over the sea it was the end to what God had started.  When God said I will deliver you out of Pharaoh's hands He meant just what He said.

God can deliver you today out of whatever mess that you are into.  It doesn't matter He is waiting for you to come back to Him
