Ezekiel 37:5-6
Draw From The Bone Yard

Ezekiel 37:5-6

Thus says the Lord God to these bones: “Surely I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live.

I will put sinews on you and bring flesh upon you, cover you with skin and put breath in you; and you shall live. Then you shall know that I am the Lord.” ’ ”

            Today we are going to talk about restoration.  There are times that we have been down so far and drug through the mud and set in such a dry place that we need restoration.

            In Ezekiel 37 verse 1 it says "The hand of the Lord came upon me and brought me out in the Spirit of the Lord."  We believe that what follows as something Ezekiel saw as a vision, not with his physical sense of sight.

            It says also that he was set down in the midst of the valley which today we would call Death Valley because the scripture says that it was full of bones.

            When I was growing up my Dad loved to play dominoes.  When we were playing dominoes he loved to play where he could block me so that I had no dominos to play and would have to go draw from the bone yard.  It was not fund because you knew if you had to go to the bone yard the chances are he would come out ahead on that hand and maybe help him win the game.

            During the late summer when I walk out into my yard it often time can almost feel like that Valley of Death.  I am walking out into what used to be my beautiful green yard and it is now a valley of dead grass.  That grass will not live without water.

            in our lives we go through time when we are as dry as my summer ending grass.  We have been hit so hard by Satan.  He has brought the heat on and we are drying up because we don't go to the source.

            So what does this mean?

Psalm 23:4

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

            When we are going through that Valley of Death we must remember to water or in this case pray for restoration of our soul.  Our heart matters to God which is why He sent Jesus His son to die on a cross for you and I.

            We see as we move on in Ezekiel 37:5 that it begins to tell us what Ezekiel was instructed to say to the bones.

Ezekiel 37:5-6

“Surely I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live.

I will put sinews on you and bring flesh upon you, cover you with skin and put breath in you; and you shall live. Then you shall know that I am the Lord.” ’ ”

            Now these bones were of a dead army and when Ezekiel spoke to the bones they started to grow flesh and skin and then he goes on to tell them this.

Ezekiel 37:9

‘Thus says the Lord God: “Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.” ’ ”

            And then it says in verse 10 that they did live and they stood up and became a great army.

            There are so many things that we go through in life, bad things or hard times.  God can draw from the bone yard and restore your heart.

Jeremiah 29:13

 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

            When this country was young they discovered mineral water and they say that it is healthy for your body.

            Mineral water, especially those rich in magnesium and calcium, is believed to offer various health benefits, including promoting bone health, potentially lowering blood pressure, supporting heart health, and aiding digestion.

            I kid people all the time about Dr Pepper which is one of my favorite drinks that it is call Holy Water.  My wife and I recently took a trip to Waco, Texas and visited the Dr Pepper museum and as we walked in and got our tickets the first room we come to had a huge bottle on the wall and in big letters it said "Healing Water."  I raise my hands up and said I knew it.

            In all seriousness God can give you the ultimate restoration that your soul and body needs.

Jeremiah 30:17

For I will restore health to you
And heal you of your wounds,’ says the Lord,

            Sometimes God can even restore things better than what they were.  However, we have to first submit to Him and His will.  Not what we think we should get.

            Many years ago we had a friend that always said that she wanted this perfect man that has never been married and had all the specifics in her mind that she wanted.  She was in her 30's and still holding out for this perfect husband.  When the right man came along and she was reluctant to date him God said this is the one.  He had a child and had already been divorced, however when they finally got married she was so happy with what God had given her.

            Draw from the place that Ezekiel visit in the bone yard and bring forth life to your heart and soul.

            God can restore your life back to or even better than what is was before.  It doesn't matter what you have been through and the dry place you may be in because God is in the restoration business.
