Isaiah 43:18-19
"Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old.
Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.
How many people in here have a cell phone?
Have you ever had a problem with your phone that you could not get it to work right? And have you ever gotten to the point you had to reset your configure you settings or maybe you had to completely reset your phone to the Factory Settings?
Romans 12:1-2
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.
2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Paul is the author of Romans and he was killing ever Christian in site when he met Jesus on a dirt road and Jesus changed his world. Jesus even changed his name from Saul to Paul. He stopped killing Christians and completely started his life over. And became one of the most influential leaders of that time.
There has been many time in my life that I tried to do a reset. I would try to do better on my job, lose weight, change the way I talked, the way I acted and even the way I thought. And it might would work for a little while, but when I met Jesus it changed it completely.
No matter how hard you try to change your life are do a reset, you will never be able to reset like Jesus.
We spend a lot of time doing what this world does. We watch all of the horror movies, movies about witches, movies about evil spirits, or movies that show magic and claim it's Christian. We must be careful what we place our mind on, because it only puts us on that long dust road with Paul that was doing so much evil. Thank the Lord that he met Jesus on that road.
We need to not just do a reset and see where we go, but do a Factory Reset with Jesus.
You might say what do you mean by a factory reset instead of just a reset. Because, that reset that you do is without Jesus. Trying to do better on your own. However a factory reset with God means that you are resetting all the way back to the way God created you. He did not create you to live in sin, but to Praise Him.
Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Jeremiah was a man of God. He lived during a time when people where not interested in what he had to say. Jeremiah was often ignored or ridiculed, and sometimes, imprisoned. However, Jeremiah continued to preach and tell people about God.
God knows the plans he has for you and those plans do not include you doing wrong, but doing right. However, you will need to do a reset in your heart and start over.
God takes everything from your past that you have done and does a Factory Reset.
I have spent years working on computers and phones for myself, family, and friends. I have been able to help them solve a lot of problems that they have had with them. However, the has been times when I could not find what the problem was and the best things was to do a factory reset.
The Factory Reset is a way to place the device back to the way you bought it which is the way the company or corporation created that device.
God created you perfect. God did not mess you up from the factory, you did that. And in order to get back to the way God created you, you must get on your knees and ask him to forgive you for all those mistakes and things that you did wrong. Then and only then can God complete that Factory Reset and wipe away all of your past and give you a brand new present.
Lets look for a moment at Peter in the Bible. In spite of messing up many times in his life he came back to Jesus. Peter was always making big statement to Jesus like; I'll follow you anywhere, I'll never forsake you, I'll never deny you, and I'll even die for you.
Lets look at his failures:
- He was rebuked by Jesus as a tool of Satan: "Get thee behind me, Satan, "Jesus said to him when he offered Jesus bad advice.
- He was going to build tabernacles to commemorate the transfiguration, and God spoke from heaven and said "Please, Peter, be quiet and listen to Jesus."
- He made a mistake in walking on the water when he took his eyes off Jesus.
- He tried to cast out demons like Jesus did and failed.
- He went to sleep when he should have been praying, even on the night Jesus was betrayed.
- Worse than all those—much worse—he openly denied his Lord three times while Jesus was standing trial.
Jesus gave Peter several second chances.
Have you been struggling to keep your walk with God? It is not too late! Peter kept messing up and yet Jesus still forgave him. It is time for you to do a Factory Reset.
