Galations 5:19-21
There Is Peace

Galatians 5:19-21

19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies,

 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

            Satan know that to destroy who we are in God that he must attack our weakest point and that is our mind.  If Satan can he will have us turn our backs on God and join Satan in Hell.

Romans 1:28

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not fitting;

            If we continue in sin without repentance, the Scripture says that God will eventually give you over to a reprobate mind where your heart is so hard that you can no longer hear or feel the Holy Spirit.

            We often wonder why we are not getting closer to God or the Holy Spirit.  Sometimes we allow sin in our lives and it can pull us away from God and eventually destroy us.

            People sometimes don't want to give their life to Jesus because they don't want to give up certain things in their life that they are doing.

            So many people live with their mind being destroyed everyday by the enemy.  Something as simple as jealousy and envy can even harm us and according to the Bible is a sin.  Sometimes people get so jealous because Peggy talked to her but not me that they allow it to destroy their mind and therefore it destroys their relationship with Jesus.

            Have you ever seen the old commercial that says this is your brain and this is your brain on drugs.

            Sin will destroy your life and bring you down.

Galatians 5:22

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

            God wants you to have peace, He wants you to be happy.  However, Satan does not want you to be happy or joyful so, he will do all he can to destroy you.

1 Corinthians 14:33

33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

Philippians 4:7

And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

            How many times must you read about the peach that Jesus offers you?

            Jesus was about to leave this earth and He is talking to His disciple and promising them peace as His last will and testament.

Matthew 5:9

Blessed are the peacemakers,
For they shall be called sons of God.

            You see, the stresses in our lives the times when things are really going wrong.

John 14:27

 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

            Jesus even says that He will bless you if you keep the peace around you.

            We hear it all the time – “I read that and I felt God,” “When I heard this Bible verse, I felt peace wash over me,” or “When I heard this song, I knew God was real.”

            If we rewind to the Garden of Eden, we find that all was well, all the time. World peace was truly present. There was no lack, nothing out of order, nothing out of line. When the devil entered the garden in the form of a snake to tempt Adam and Eve, human history changed in an instant.

            There is peace in the time of trouble, heartache, anxiety, depression, and loneliness.  Jesus said I leave you with peace, but not only did He say that He also said I give you my peace.  That should be all the comfort we need.

Philippians 4:6-7

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;

and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
