Luke 17:11-19
God Will Be There

Luke 17:11-19

11 Now it happened as He went to Jerusalem that He passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.

12 Then as He entered a certain village, there met Him ten men who were lepers, who stood afar off.

13 And they lifted up their voices and said, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”

14 So when He saw them, He said to them, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed.

15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God,

16 and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan.

17 So Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine?

18 Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?”

19 And He said to him, “Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well.”

1 John 1;9

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Have you ever had an infection?

Infection:  An Infection is the invasion and multiplication of germs (such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, or parasites) in body tissue.

This invasion can cause a lot of discomfort, swelling and even loss of limp or life.  And infection can be a big deal.

In Luke we read about Jesus that gets stopped by 10 lepers that are in need of a miracle.  Jesus looks up and sees them and tells them to go tell the priest that you are clean and they were cleansed.

Now I want to take you to a different set of scriptures where it says this:

Numbers 12:1-15

In this story Miriam and Aaron criticizes Moses and God's defense of His servant because of his cushite wife and questions if God speaks only through Moses.  And God hears their complaint.

God calls them to the Tent of Meeting, appears in a cloud and explains that He speaks to Moses face-to-face, unlike other prophets.

Then God punishes Moses and Aaron with Leprosy and they have to spend 7 days outside of camp before they can return.

Leprosy in that day could be several different kind of skin problems like: fungal infections, psoriasis, and other visible skin conditions.

By now you are probably asking where is  Pastor going with this.

That infection you have that I am talking about is not necessarily physical but spiritual.  The infection is Satan that is trying to get you away from God.

If Satan can convince you to threw one of your friends to take just one little pill, or take one drink of liquor, say that one cuss word, or sleep with that one person outside of marriage and you do then he has already succeeded in getting you into sin.

When you try just one time then sin will consume your life.

James 2:10

For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all.

Now this sounds pretty hard, but remember God wants you to only serve Him and give him your all which is your heart.

Romans 6:23

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

I may not be the best preacher, this church may not be the biggest church, but with God all things are possible.

God will be there when I get up.

God will be there when I lay my head.

God will be there in the middle of my storm.

God will be there when things are bad.

God will be there when things are good.

God will be there.

Do not let that infection of sin start in your life, because when it does it can very quickly become a full blown infection.  That infection will only fester and get bigger until you can't see God.

It is time for us to get back to serving Christ and living by His word.  When we do that the bible says that there will be a reward waiting for us in Heaven.
